January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  You may have found your way here from Haley's Blog.  January's SOTM is Happy Valentine's.  I have a circle card to share using this beautiful stamp set and the Clemitine Paper Pack.

The flower was stamped with Sobet ink on Sorbet cardsstock.  I cut a mat for the heart and then added glitz around the edge.  The mat makes getting a consistent edge of glitz easy.

December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for December 2012.  You may have found your way here from Pamela's Blog.  This month we have a fun set of 12 stamps called "Year-Round Cheer".

I have my "usual" circle card.  This card features the Clementine paper packs, Sorbet Ink, and Burlap Ribbon.  I trimmed my stamps in this set to separate the words from the images and that creates even more variety in this great assorted set.

Very Merry Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the October 2012 CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  You may have found your way here from Teresa's Blog.

This month's set is called VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.  It is a fun set of 11 acrylic stamps. It is a great set for creating quick and easy tags.  For each of these tags, I cut a mat slightly larger and added a touch of Glitz.  The mat creates a border to make it easy to get the glitz applied evenly.

I also created a simple circle card using Ruby ink, cardstock and embellished with milpost shapes and a wooden button.

New Product Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the New Product Blog Hop for the CTMH Fall/Winter 2012 idea book.  You may have found your way here from Debra's Blog.

There are so many great new products.  The theme for my projects is Christmas.  My first project is a card that has a pocket for a gift card.  Supplies used for this project include the Pear & Partridge Paper pack, the Merry & Bright Stamp Set, Christmas Joy stamp set, Glitz Glitter Gel in Pink, Green and Red, Kraft Cardstock, and inks in Cashmere, Desert Sand, Cranberry and Olive.  I applied the glitz around the border of the sentiment on the card front and painted the paper in varous spots using a small paintbrush.  Inside the card is a small pocket and a tag that holds a give gard.

I have two cards to share this month.  The first is a circle card that uses the new Moonlight Paper Packet.    The card base and stamping is in Goldrush and the pretty embelishment is from the Filigree Charms set.

The second card uses only cardstock in Champagne, Chocolate and an Ivory case base.  The stamping is a tone-on-tone technique using Champagne Ink.  This set is perfect to use with this stamp set to create elegant backgrounds. The sentiment is from the new stamp set, Christmas Joy.

CTMH June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month blog hop featuring the adorable set, "Life is Tweet". You may have found your way here from Krista's blog.  I have a little something special to share this month.  I used the set to create a "Magic Card".  The best way to show the magic is in a very short video....

This magical card was created using the Life is Tweet stamp set, the Florentine Paper Pack, cardstock in Creme Brulee and White Daisy, Black Stazon Ink, Black Archival Ink, Twilight Ink (applied with a foam tool), Paradise Paper Flowers, Sparkles from the blue & green assortment and Baker's Twine (Paradise and Neutral assortments).  The bird was colored using Copic markers.  The magic is created using a transparency sheet and a hidden pocket.  Can you figure out how it works?

I also have a couple of circle cards to share because my "followers" would be so disappointed if I did not have circle cards. I continue to be a circle card addict.  This card is made using only cardstock and ink in Sweet Leaf, Lagoon and Bamboo.  Add some sparkles and ribbon and you have a quick and easy card.

This next card uses the Roxie Papers, Black and Desert Sand Inks and embellished with Durables Studs.  The bird image was colored by placing a mask around the outside of the bird image and applying ink with the CTMH Foam Tool.  If you don't like to "color" this is a great way to cheat.

The May Stamp of the Month is a set of eight stamps called Friendship Bouquet.  My project for this month is a circle card featuring the Pemberly paper packet.  The technique to shade the flower was created by stamping the image with Desert Sand ink and shading using the foam and stipple brushes found in the set of texture tools.  The embellishments are the round Durables Studs.

March SOTM Blog Hop - Potential

Welcome to the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog hop. You may have found your way here from Judy Burger's blog.

This month we have a beautiful set of nine stamps called "Potential". I have created a couple of circle cards this month. My first card uses kraft cardstock with a splash of lagoon cardstock and ribbon. I love the look of Desrt Sand ink on this cardstock. It creates beautiful shadding. Did you know that in addition to the Kraft cardstock, CTMH offers kraft envelopes and a die cut card set? Love it! My second card is created using the Stella paper pack and bling accents from the Blue & Green Sparkles assortment. Inks used include Sunset, Tulip and Cocoa.

February SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. This month's set is a bold set of phrases/words called Thoughtful Tidings. You may have found your way here from Mary Eisen's blog.

I thought that with the boldness of the phrases, I would go with simple cards. I picked a set of three colors inspired from the Stella Paper Packet: Tulip, Sunset and Lagoon. I love the "splash" that lagoon adds.

Card #1 is a circle card - because I have addiction to circle cards. VERY simple design with an accent of the new Baker's Twine in the Paradise Assortment. The Baker's Twine is the "circle card lovers" new best friend!

Card #2 is super simple with some bling to bring in party!
