Rock the Block Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Blog Hop featuring the Rock The Block kit. You may have found your way here from Traci Godbee's Blog.

This stamp set is perfect to demonstrate a favorite stamping technique: Kissing with Lipstick. Kissing stamps means that you ink one stamp and press it against a second stamp before stamping onto the final surface. Kissing with lipstick is the technique of stamping two stamps in contrasting ink, pressing "kissing" them together and then stamp onto the surface. The flower on this mini card is stamped with Crystal Blue ink with the dot background stamp kissed with Chocolate.

Next I have a circle card to share in the same color sceme of Chocolate and Blue (Crystal Blue and Twilight). I stamped the background stamp on the butterfly in Chocolate and distressed everything with the stipple brush and Chololate ink.

My last card is fun and colorful. It features the colors Sunset, Gypsy and Lagoon.

Jubilation: June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. You may have found your way here from Jill's blog.

The June SOTM is Jubilation. It is a great assortment of 24 stamps covering lots of holidays or celebrations. To demonstrate the variety, I created one SIMPLE sketch and used it multiple ways. Each design uses a 3 color scheme to form a 8 x 3.5" card. If you are challenged in finding color combinations that you like, use the CTMH idea book as each section is based on a 3-4 color grouping.

Colors for card 1: Olive, Outdoor Denim and Sunset. This is 100% cardstock but the colors come from the Lucky Paper Pack. A few bitty sparkles to embelish the simplicity.

Colors for card 2: Cranberry, Pacifica and Sky from the Fanfare Paper Pack.

Colors for card 3: Lagoon, Pacifica and Sky . This is 100% cardstock but the colors come from the Magnifique Paper Pack. Embellishments are from the Lagoon Mini-Medley Accents.

Gift Card Card!

This is a fun card that holds a gift card. The base of the card is an envelope. Here is a design using the CTMH Stamp Set Tulip and papers from the Wings paper pack. The shading technique on the tulip is created by applying a light shade of ink to the stamp and then add a darker ink directly to the stamp using a sponge dauber. This example used blush and vinyard berry inks for the flower and sweat leaf and olive for the stem/leaves. Card inside with flap closed: Card inside with flap open:
