Gift Card Card!

This is a fun card that holds a gift card. The base of the card is an envelope. Here is a design using the CTMH Stamp Set Tulip and papers from the Wings paper pack. The shading technique on the tulip is created by applying a light shade of ink to the stamp and then add a darker ink directly to the stamp using a sponge dauber. This example used blush and vinyard berry inks for the flower and sweat leaf and olive for the stem/leaves. Card inside with flap closed: Card inside with flap open:

Friendship Card - CTMH Clear Cards!

I like to use both the clear sections and covered sections of the card. For this card, I covered up the bottom half of the card front so that the upper half of the card inside will show through.

Card Front:
Card Inside:

· Notice the stamped image on the card inside is positioned that it shows when the card is also closed.
· A little heart was added under the card front layer. You can’t see this heart on the front but it is a nice little decoration when the card is open.
· The fact that the lower half of the card front is covered, you can add a personal message to the lower half of the card inside.

Card Front (open) and Back:

· Notice the CTMH double sided paper shows through all sides of the card.

New Product Blog Hop!

You have found your way to the Close to My Heart consultant blog hop featuring a variety of the new products that can be found in the Summer 2010 idea book. You may have landed here from Jennifer's blog.

For my project, I selected the Clear Cards. These cards are a nice weight and so much fun to work with.

I cut patterned paper (Topstitch Paper Packet) to fit the inside of the card and stamped "happy birthday" (stamp from Candlelight set). I used a fine line of liquid glass around the entire edge of the paper. Next, I took a strip of paper and adhered it to the card front. Using a sponge brush and acrylic paint, I edged the entire card with a thin line of paint. I added some ribbons by punching several holes through the card top and added a soft suede pinwheel embelishment.

Now, the hop continues over at Antoinette's Blog. Have fun and happy stamping!

February Stamp of The Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! You may have come here from Carol Horton's blog.

This Month's set is "Piece of Cake". It is a fun set of 10 stamps. I can't seem to put it down.

My first card uses the Caboodle Level 2 Paper Pack, Sorbet Ric Rac and mini brads in black. The image is stamped in black archival ink and colored with watercolor pencils and a blending pen. The little flowers (in the corner and on the top of the lower cake layer) are cut out from other cake images in the set.

My second card uses the More to Adore Level 2 Paper Pack and Stickeze, Craft Buttons, Waxy Flax, and Colonial White Ribbon. The image is stamped in Chocolate ink and colored with watercolor pencils and a blending pen.

My third card is the super quick and easy design. I picked three colors (Olive, Sorbet and Twilight), stamped the ink color onto the coordinating cardstock. I softened the lines of the images using a blender pen and a little ink. Add a stamped phrase and a little embelishment and that is one easy and adorable card!
